When they were founded, coffee consumption in the UK was increasing, but no one knew that farmers were being unfairly paid for their products. Equal Exchange set out on a mission to change that, becoming a worker cooperative and ensuring trade with farmers was a fair and transparent and forging long-term relationship with suppliers.
