#BakeForSyria was started by Lily Vanilli as an offshoot of the award-winning #CookForSyria to take action in support of the innocent children affected by the war in Syria. The first event took place in the famous Columbia Road London and has since captured the minds of school children, professionals and chefs all over the world. As Syrian and Middle Eastern inspired recipes flooded in, it made sense to share these beyond social media and in the form of a beautiful not for profit recipe book!
Started by baker Lily Vanilli, #BakeForSyria is the latest iteration of #CookForSyria the supper-club that became a global movement. Following the tradition of the #BakeForSyria project, this cookbook contains delicious recipes for Syrian desserts and sweet treats, passed down through generations. These sit alongside Syrian and Middle Eastern-inspired recipes – accompanied by stunning artwork and design – donated by celebrity chefs and bestselling food writers.
